SCR & TRIAC
Silicon controlled rectifier SCR, ook bekend als thyristor, worden onderverdeeld in twee typen: unidirectionele thyristor en bidirectionele thyristor. De bidirectionele SCR worden ook triac genoemd. De bidirectionele SCR of triac is structureel equivalent aan twee unidirectionele SCR's die in omgekeerde richting zijn verbonden, en de triac heeft een bidirectionele geleidingsfunctie. SCR's met klein en middelmatig vermogen worden vaak gebruikt in consumentenkeukenapparatuur, schoonheidssalonapparatuur, huishoudelijke apparaten, enz.; SCR's met hoog vermogen worden vaak gebruikt in industriële besturing, motortoerentalregeling, omvormers, automatische besturingscircuits, elektronische schakelaars, frequentiebesturing, enz.
