On July 9, Shenzhen Yingtang Intelligent Control Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yingtang Intelligent Control") and Hulu MT.PEAK LLC (Hulu Semiconductor Comprehensive Investment Company, referred to as "HuLu") signed a "Cooperation Agreement" to jointly build a 6-inch SIC device production line in China.

Preparing to build a 6-inch silicon carbide production line

According to the announcement, the two parties agreed that HuLu would assist Yingtang Intelligent Control in preparing a 6-inch silicon carbide production line in China to provide production line construction, equipment selection planning, product requirements and process technology support.

The two parties agreed that HuLu or its designated partner must provide a 6-inch SiC device production line construction and equipment selection plan, assist Yingtang Intelligent Control in completing the purchase, transfer, installation and debugging of equipment, and provide product requirements and mature process technology support.

At the same time, in order to better cooperate between the two parties, at any time during the validity period of the agreement, both parties agree to sign relevant license agreements directly or through related parties, so that Yingtang Intelligent Control has the right to use relevant technologies or intellectual property rights. The cooperation period between the two parties is from July 9, 2021 to July 8, 2024.

Information shows that HuLu is a high-tech and semiconductor industry investment and technical services company located in California, USA. Its main business involves the merger, division, and transfer of semiconductor companies; the import and export of investments related to semiconductor manufacturing equipment and factory equipment; the preservation of domestic and foreign copyrights and intellectual property rights, and technology introduction and transfer. It has rich resources in the fields of semiconductor equipment, production lines and technology.

Yingtang Intelligent Control also said that the establishment of this partnership will help accelerate the company's production capacity planning in the field of third-generation semiconductors. The company will rely on its early R&D and manufacturing industry layout in analog and power devices and give full play to its advantages in third-generation semiconductor power device technology reserves and domestic market resources.

Accelerate third-generation semiconductor production capacity planning

Data show that Yingtang Intelligent Control was established in 2001 and is mainly engaged in semiconductor component distribution, chip R&D and design, etc. It is one of China's leading comprehensive solution providers for semiconductor components.

Since 2019, Yingtang Intelligent Control has established a strategic plan to transform and upgrade to the upstream semiconductor chip R&D field and create a full industry chain of semiconductor chips integrating design, manufacturing and sales. It also plans to deepen the company's production capacity layout in the third-generation semiconductor field through acquisitions, reconstruction, and self-construction.

In October 2020, Yingtang Intelligent Control completed the asset delivery and transfer of the 100% equity acquisition of Pioneer Micro Technology, a subsidiary of Japan's Pioneer Group. At present, Pioneer Micro Technology has officially changed its name to Yingtang Micro Technology. In addition, in order to lay out its R&D and design capabilities in the field of third-generation semiconductor devices, Yingtang Intelligent Control also established an acquisition and holding plan for Shanghai Corestone in 2020.

At present, Yingtang Intelligent Control is gradually implementing the acquisition of IDM company Yingtang Micro Technology and power device R&D and design company Shanghai Corestone.

Today, Yingtang Intelligent Control and HuLu have signed a cooperation agreement to cooperate in the construction of a 6-inch SIC device production line. This is undoubtedly another important strategic move for the third-generation semiconductor industry layout of Yingtang Intelligent Control Accelerator. With the continuous development of technology and the continuous decline of costs, Yingtang Intelligent Control is also expected to promote the domestic third-generation semiconductor industry to accelerate the realization of domestic substitution as soon as possible in the future.
