This is called abnormal charge current detection, etc. 5.2 In Figure 2, the bidirectional TVS for surge protection is Slkor SMF5.0CA, with VRWM voltage of 5.0V and excellent clamping capability, with a peak pulse power capability of 200W under 10/1000 µs waveform.
