I. Product Overview
SMBJ36A is a unidirectional transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) diode in SMB (DO-214AA) surface-mount package, designed for transient over-voltage protection of 36 V DC systems. Adopting glass-passivated die construction with excellent clamping capability and fast response time, it can rapidly dissipate high-energy transient pulses such as ESD, EFT and induced surges, and protect 36 V circuits in industrial, automotive and power-supply equipment from damage caused by transient high-voltage shocks.

Package: SMB (DO-214AA), transfer molded epoxy surface-mount package Polarity: Unidirectional (cathode marked by band) VRWM (Reverse Working Voltage): 36.0 V VBR (Breakdown Voltage): 40.0 V (min) ~ 44.2 V (max) Test Current (IT): 1.0 mA VC (Maximum Clamping Voltage): 58.1 V IPP (Peak Pulse Current): 10.3 A IR (Reverse Leakage Current): 5 μA Peak Pulse Power Dissipation: 600 W (10/1000 μs waveform) Peak Forward Surge Current: 100 A (8.3 ms single half sine-wave, JEDEC Method) Terminals: Solder-plated, solderable per MIL-STD-750, Method 2026 Flame Retardant Rating: UL 94V-0 Operating & Storage Temperature: -55℃ ~ +150℃ Note: Power rating is measured on 5.0 mm² copper pad. Pulses are non-repetitive. Derating is required when ambient temperature exceeds 25℃. VBR is measured after IT is applied for 300 μs.

SMT compatibility: SMB surface-mount package supports automatic SMT assembly and fits compact PCB layout.
