?CMSemicon’s first RISC-V core MCU comes out, integrating analog peripherals to simplify design

Recently, China Micro Semiconductor (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CMSemicon), an innovative developer specializing in mixed-signal SoC, announced the official release of the first 32-bit microcontroller with integrated RISC-V core - ANT32RV56xx. This series of chips is equipped with Nuclei System Technology's N100 series ultra-low-power RISC-V processor core, integrates analog peripherals and simplifies design, easily meeting the requirements of consumer electronics for high computing power and low power consumption.



As the core component of embedded control systems, microcontrollers have extremely high requirements for computing power, power consumption, and peripherals. Equipped with a RISC-V processor, ANT32RV56xx further achieves a perfect balance of performance, computing power, and power consumption. With its efficient performance and flexible compatibility, it can be widely used in wireless charging, digital-analog hybrid, and IoT applications.


The ANT32RV56xx design aims to reduce the number of components in the drive circuit with super peripherals and rich resources, and improve system control efficiency with a more efficient design. Adhering to the CMSemicon mixed-signal SoC design concept, ANT32RV56xx simplifies the design and integrates rich peripherals in a single package. It has built-in 2 operational amplifiers, 2 comparators, and 2 programmable gain amplifiers, which can replace off-chip operational amplifiers and comparators for wireless charging decoding circuits.


ANT32RV56xx can quickly provide effective protection against abnormal situations in system control. The chip has two built-in low-speed and high-speed high-precision 12-bit ADCs, which can accurately collect voltage, current and temperature signals for different application scenarios for system control. The enhanced PWM flexible configuration is suitable for half-bridge and full-bridge control. The fast braking function can effectively protect the entire control system, greatly improving system performance and efficiency.


ANT32RV56xx combines high computing power and low power consumption, and can currently provide a complete solution for wireless charging transmission. CMSemicon's 5W/7.5W/10W/15W wireless charging transmission solution based on ANT32RV56xx is well prepared in terms of performance and power consumption. The solution supports the latest QI standard protocol V1.2.4 and QC2.0 fast charging protocol, and is compatible with Apple 7.5W fast charging, Samsung 10W fast charging and 15W EPP fast charging. Adopting power closed-loop control, the control is flexible and efficient, and it has a sensitive foreign object detection (FOD) function, which can quickly increase the wireless charging speed of mobile phones.


As a member of the China Open Instruction Ecosystem (RISC-V) Alliance, CMSemicon has long been committed to jointly building a RISC-V open ecosystem. To help accelerate developers' design deployment and facilitate easy debugging, CMSemicon has provided rich and complete development support for ANT32RV56xx.


Currently, designers can compile, download and debug RISC-V kernel programs based on the CMS TM series of development tools. CMSemicon provides an independent knowledge integrated development environment (CMS IDE) suitable for RISC-V cores. Designers can freely manage and edit source files, compile, simulate and download a one-stop solution. The tool provides a graphical compilation configuration interface and a graphical chip option configuration interface. Its emulator is highly integrated with the IDE, has driver-free installation, and has fast reading and writing speeds, helping developers quickly deploy and start designs.


ANT32RV56xx provides LQFP48 package type, equipped with RISC-V processor, which will help developers achieve the perfect balance between power consumption and performance with unprecedented design flexibility and compatibility. Currently, test samples of the new product have begun to be provided, and CMSemicon is expected to launch other members of this product series in 2021.
